5 Tips Before Leaving Your Job.

Before you leave that job make sure you have these 5 things in place

Most people these days are looking to be their own boss. The pandemic really pushed this next era of the entrepreneur into full speed. Most people found out the importance of having another stream of income in their households. The most common thing I hear from people ready to leave their job is how they can’t wait to have all their time back to themselves. And before that time gets here and before your ready to step away from your job, I thought I’d give you these tips that you want to have in place or implement immediately.

So here are some quick tips I’d give all the new entrepreneurs ready to go forth and put their business and brand on the map.

1.Have a schedule

It’s funny, our jobs told us all of our working career when we needed to show up for work and how long we had to be there. But when we step into becoming our own boss we dont believe we have to follow this same rule of thumb. Wrong! You need to know when you will be working. How long and when you are able to take breaks.

Your schedule is the boss over you so make sure you have income producing activity on your schedule that not only tells you when you need to show up but also what is expected of you when you do show up .

Your time is so valuable and it’s the one thing we don’t know how much we have ahead. Make sure you are using it in the most productive way possible, work for yourself and value your time more than you ever did at any job because we are talking about something that you are creating.

2. Set Goals and Top Priorities

Not only do you need to know when you need to show up but you need to know what you will be doing. It’s important that you have daily goals on what you want to accomplish in your business everyday. Make sure you keep them in front of you daily. Find a place where you can place them and have them constantly in front of you, so when distractions come up you can easily refocus and remember what you are working towards.

3.Best Work Zone

You need to know when you are most productive so you can maximize your time. Some entrepreneurs will have you believing that you must work round the clock no sleep no days off, but truth be told most have peaks and lows. At your peak time you need do the tough things you wont want to do in your low peak time. You need to know yourself your work style and your best work zone. Go to a coffee shop, library, or hotel some place that you can work and increase production and results.

4. Exit Strategy

Lastly before you leave make sure you have a plan of action you can take that will help you before you leave the comfortable check. You need to reduce your bills and know how much it takes for you to live and live on a level where you are not scrapping by but that you can still enjoy the luxury of eating out or traveling every now and again. Put it in effect months before leaving so that you have time to tweak and fix errors.

5.Success Plan

Lastly coming up with the exit strategy make sure you have the plan for success, think about when things get tough what will keep you focused and keep you working towards your goals. How will you encourage yourself on days when you are working doing the same thing day in and out and not seeing the results that you want to see.

These are the things I wish I had in place before leaving my job. Now that I have I want to help other entrepreneurs ready to take on the world, put a plan in action that will have them ready to conquor and fire their boss.
